Biography

D. Casey Kerrigan, MD, MS, is a physician-scientist, innovator, and professor of physical medicine & rehabilitation at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. A graduate of Harvard Medical School with advanced training in kinesiology and biomechanics at UCLA, Dr. Kerrigan is internationally recognized for her pioneering research in gait biomechanics, aging, mobility science, rehabilitation technology, and regenerative approaches to human performance. She founded major gait and motion laboratories at both Harvard and UVA and has led NIH- and NSF-funded translational research programs integrating medicine, engineering, wearable technology, AI, and advanced manufacturing. She is also co-founder of OESH Shoes and multiple biomechanical innovation ventures.
